You can make things easier for a new employee by assigning him or her a mentor
or “buddy” during the first few weeks of employment. Just remember to make the
job as easy as possible for the buddy, too. Consider dividing the role among two or
more experienced employees. For example, assign one to coach the employee
about the job itself, and assign another to deal with social issues such as introducing
